feeling the blues
May 19, 2009Dean’s away again, this time for longer, and of course I miss him. But I had to concentrate on my exam yesterday, which went well, thank god!
\
\
My hand hurt from vigorously writing like 10,000 words in 3 hours. By the end of the exam, I couldn’t feel my wrist anymore and I had to do everything with my left hand.
\
\
It’s because I’m so used to typing (on laptops, texting etc) so writing is so ancient, it’s almost the case that I forgot how to write!
\
\
Anyway, after the exam, I wanted to take the tube home, but I had to pass by Oxford Circus. Hehe. Long story short, I ended up in Topshop instead of home. I didn’t find anything there; their designs are seriously deteriorating. Everything is so ghetto, and punkish, clad with leopard print leggings, zebra tunics and huge boxy purple boyfriend blazers with ugly big buttons. Ew.
\
\
So, I went to Zara instead and it has become my favourite high street store now. Everything is so floral, decent and very classy. No fuss, no wild prints, just simple and sophisticated. Love it!
\
\
Also stopped by H&M to see what’s going on with the Matthew Williamson line. And omg they had so much left in Oxford Street store!! So Stella and I went crazy there, buying more Matthew Williamson clothes. Together, we practically have the whole range! And the best thing is that we’re the same size! Haha
\
\
We had a good dinner to celebrate our “1 down, 3 to go” exam progress, forgot studying for a while, gushed over our new purchases and made fun of that girl who stood in front of a shop window to check herself out in her reflection (seriously, don’t these people realise they’re in public?!).
\
\
When I got home, I realised most of my purchases were blue!
\
\
\
Matthew Williamson for H&M blue tulip skirt (doesn’t it remind you of Malaysian school uniform?! Haha)
\
\
\
\
Love the details
\
\
\
\
Loose dress. OK, this isn’t really blue. But the neckline is beautiful, kind of like the last season’s Matthew Williamson.
\
\
\
Blue woven clutch. Love it!
\
\
I must miss Dean so much, that I am subconsciously feeling the blues.
\
\
Even my notes were blue!!
\
Excuse my handwriting, I told you I can’t write nicely!
\
\
Oh btw, one exam tip that works for me and might work for you too, is acronyms.
\
\
I like to list out main points and make funny acronyms that are memorable.
\
\
Like in the picture for example, the arguments for having authority were:
\
-
\
- coordination
- burden
- collectivity
- we have it anyway
\
\
\
\
\
So putting all the first letters together I had C, B, C and the last one was pretty tricky. So in the end, it came to “Chocolate Brings Calories, Have it Anyway!”
\
\
Haha that really helps everytime.
\
\
Hopefully, you’ll find it useful too.
Am loving the skirt 🙂
Hahaha more like 3 points within 1 line of the flash cards!
\
\
Have to be careful not to just remember the acronyms like me, i remembered it but not what they stood for, thinking about the double shot of something, i forgot i was doing an exam!
you mean the sekolah menengah skirt, boot?! hahaha
What are you talking about, proudduck?
\
We wore mustard-coloured THEN green THEN pin stripe skirts to school. Ahhh, the joys of private school- so stylo mylo! Hahahahaa!
\
Detailing is everything really, isn’t it? If they had just put a little bit of embroidery and beading onto the sekolah menengah uniforms, maybe there would be less complaining about the choice of colour.
ooh i used to do that while studying for spm! especially for bio.
\
\
i really should go to oxford circus.. still alot of choice and size or just generally alot of stuff left?
Hahhaa ya, none of this light blue bullshit!
