privacy, interrupted
June 10, 2009Dean just showed me that Google Maps have actual street views of almost every road. This is probably old news, but I only discovered it today.\’a0
\
This is Queensway and Bayswater, the popular food spot which has a lot of Halal restaurants
\
\
You can actually move the view and zoom into people’s windows and stuff.
\
\
I found it so amazing and so bizarre what technology can do; track people down, see our every move from satellite view etc. They might as well install chips in our bodies to investigate our every move.\’a0
\
\
With Facebook, Twitter, blogging, Latitude, Maps, CCTV etc, privacy is almost non-existent now. It’s getting scary. Which is ironic for me to feel because I have voluntary installed some of those applications in my life.\’a0
\
\
Next week, there will be a mobile phone directory launching in the UK. People can track you down and access information about you so easily nowadays!
\
\
There really should be some boundaries. No one should have their privacy invaded against their will.
“Vaio” and You are bonding well I see 🙂
Despite its complete and utter disregard for privacy, Google map’s street view is pretty awesome. No, I lie: it’s really awesome! I ‘walked’ down Rue du Faubourg Saint Honor\’e9 the other day and did some ‘window shopping’.
\
\
I’m just glad the technology has not spread to the streets of KL and hope that the clever people in Google do not see a need to Google street-view our streets anytime soon!
fiza: ohhh we are in a very serious relationship now.

whoopee lane: that is a very good idea!! window shopping…and omg if they have google map for KL, I will be so scared.
