When my sister got married, Toots and I were among the bridesmaids.
4 years later, Toots and I were again among the bridesmaids, but this time, for her sister.
Azz got married to her long time partner, Amir. 7 years of courting finally ended in a very beautiful and tear-jerking marriage ceremony.
The akad nikah ceremony was quick and very emotional for all of us, especially her family members. The bride and the bridesmaids were in a separate room, but we could see the akad nikah happening before us. I saw Uncle’s face and he looked so sad to let his first daughter go, and it made me feel all tingly inside. \’a02 seconds later, tears started streaming down my face and spoiled my make up! 4 seconds later, tears started streaming down Toots’ face! And soon, everybody started crying.
The reception ceremony was such a grand event. We had to go on the dais (pelamin) and I was so nervous, my knees were shaking. I can’t imagine how Azz and Amir were feeling! We had rehearsals done many times and by the end of the night, we were so tired!
Despite my feelings, everything went well and the ballroom looked so beautiful and romantic. The decorations were done by Aunty herself and her friend; very classy!
I’m grateful to be part of such a beautiful wedding, and to see Azz finally getting married to her chosen one. May their marriage be forever and blessed with lots of beautiful children.
To Azz and Amir!
