sag awards 2010
January 25, 2010Niceeeee
Christina Applegate in Roberto Cavalli
I think I just love really soft colours. The neckline is really flattering for any body shape and the earrings are just really classy. She looked like a princess. I’d want a wedding dress like this, maybe with sleeves and a longer train.
Diane Kruger in Jason Wu
LOVEEEE this colour too. I don’t usually like one-shouldered things. Maybe I’m more envious of her body, so everything she wears looks nice to me. She has always been one of my favourite style icons; very feminine, simple and classy. She can do no wrong.
Jenna Fischer
Love the colour, love the beadings, love her clutch, love the length, I love everything about this dress! I want to make one like this, maybe with capped sleeves.
Kate Hudson in Emilio Pucci
This is the kind of modern I can take. I think a woman’s back is one of her sexiest assets, so this is very sexy. I love the silver beadings on the hip and the back necklace is cute.
Kyra Sedgwick in Vera Wang
The sash looks a bit beauty-pageantish but still, it’s very elegant. The brooch is very tasteful, and I like the tiers at the bottom of the dress. For a woman her age with that kind of body, my 20-something-year-old body is embarrassed.
Lea Michele in Malandrino
Love the colour of course. Not a big fan of sleeves like that, but the neckline, the waist part, the draping, really really nice. Like a goddess. She was also my favourite at the Golden Globes, so this is one star I would watch.
Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen
Black and blue look so rich together and this dress is just gorgeous!! I love the embellishment on the chest and the bodice is so well fitting it makes her look 10 feet tall. Also, I love her hair here.
.
OK la…
Vera Farmiga
I think the colour washes her out, especially because of her fair skintone. Bad colour choice. I do love the dress though, and I get the whole pale blue and cream colour combination. If only it was a tone or two darker.
Carey Mulligan in Lanvin
The bottom of this dress is just a big question mark.
Drew Barrymore in Monique Lhuillier
Hmmm…this might be the fashion forward modern whimsical thing, but I just find the asymmetrical lampshade bit so unnecessary. It looked a bit…indecisive. It would’ve been succhhhh a beautiful elegant dress without it. But can I just say that Drew’s body is smoking!! She must’ve worked hard to be red carpet-ready.
Mariah Carey
Love the hair and earrings but the dress is yawnnnn. And my niece wants her handbag back.
Penelope Cruz in L’wren Scott
After we saw how amazing she looked at the Golden Globes, this is just a huge disappointment that she wore an LBD to the next award show. Hair is still glamourous, but the dress is just OK. The fringes of beads was a nice try, but this dress is forgettable. So are her shoes. BTW, if you like this dress, there’s a similar one at 1971 Reiss this season.
Tina Fey in Ferragamo
I don’t know why but I feel nervous looking at this dress. The neckline is just too wide and I feel like the shoulders will just fall down if she has too many drinks. A big improvement from Golden Globes, but this dress is not something you can’t find in Karen Millen.
Which is your favourite look?
I think Jenna Fischer’s dress is lovely but the placement of the beadings on the bust should’ve been higher, it looks a bit droopy on her.
But the color is simply gorgeous.
And Applegate looks absolutely stunning in chiffon!
Wu and Pucci, for sure.
