April 20, 2010When you’re bogged down with work, exercise is the LAST thing you would want to do when you get home.
I’ve been neglecting my good friend the treadmill for a few weeks now. But recently, I have been trying to reconcile my estranged relationship.
Sigh…but I think I’m falling out of love.
It’s always like this:
Me, Treadmill, TV
5-10 minutes later (ok, sometimes 3 minutes)
Me, TV
My stamina has gone down so much, and I get so tired and bored on the treadmill even if a good show is on.
I know I’ve gained a few pounds and I’m so uncomfortable in my own skin because I know this isn’t my optimum!
And you know it’s worse if your loved ones have commented too!
And us being girls, we’ll just complain about how fat we are and annoy the hell out of the people around us.
At the beginning of any relationship, the conversation will go like this, “What?!! No way. If anything, I think you’ve lost weight.”
A few months later (still on cloud 9), “Aww it’s ok. I think it’s cute that there’s some extra flesh. There’s more of you to love.” —what a load of bull.
Now it’s just, “There are these new shoes that can help you lose some weight. You should get them.”
In a few years, it’ll be “Hey fatty, what’s up?”
Ladies, that’s when we take out the baseball bat.
Anyway, back to these magic shoes.
Easytone sneakers from Reebok.
An easier way to get nicer butt and legs with their patented sole technology, designed to make us feel like we’re walking on sand. I don’t really know what relevance that plays, but I’m guessing it has something to do with stability? The shoes have these balance pods on the bottom to create natural instability when you walk around, and it actually makes you work harder to balance and adapt.
I got myself a pair (RM 349) and I loveee this colour combination. Light gold and coral. Note to self: design something with this colour combination!
So I tried them out.
I was so excited, walking around the house in them to steal some extra toning points. I even sat and watched TV on the couch while wearing them. Hey, it’s the thought that counts, no?
Finally I got on the treadmill.
And I lasted longer on the treadmill simply because I was excited to try out my new shoes. But my god, after 10 minutes, I was sweating so much. The shoes are really comfortable, but it was definitely more difficult to run in them. Because you’re running fast, but at the same time, trying to balance as well. It’s double work!
Obviously, it’s too early to say whether or not these shoes work, but I’m curious to find out! And they definitely act as motivation to get off my butt and work out. But I wouldn’t go so far as Kim Kardashian to say these shoes “saved” me.
Well, we’ll see.
Dude they stole the technology off FitFlops.. and you laughed at me when I was walking around BV2!
there’s a difference. you wore them OUT IN PUBLIC.
You comment harshly now, but I’ll have the last laugh when my porkchop thighs become less porkchop-esque!!
make sure u use it more than once pd!haha
i have difficulties working out too.. My boyfriend says that i’m more excited about spending time relaxing in the steam room compared to working out itself when i go to the gym… The shoes sounds a lot like sketcher’s shape ups… I believe there’s also one from gmt (if im not mistaken.. or something like that)… Slightly cheaper than shape ups though.. Do update on whether it really works ok… Like does it really do wonders to yr posture…does really help on fatburning and body toning… … Love reading your blog.. Take care…
this might be one of my wish list for my bday present..hhehe
err it creates natural instability? does this means it may increase the chance of ankle injury? *wince* oh my ankle had enough already.
or maybe this shoes is just designed for walking and not running and jumping around?
haha. Shoes are great and all but USING them is key to being healthy and working out well. It doesn’t need to be super expensive, just used.
Yeah, the first thing I thought was that they use the same technology as fitflops. I laugh at how uggers FFs are but I am thinking of getting a pair to walk around in. 🙂
i didnt buy easytone for my bday present..i choose NIKE FREE RUN..opsss..
