I was at work and completely forgot I had a book launch to attend. Not just any book launch, but the book launch by our very own former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir.
Through My Lenses is a coffee-table book of a compilation of some of photographs that Tun Mahathir snapped throughout his life. He shows his photography skills (some not such great angle! haha) and us readers get to see a bit of his journey and what he thought was interesting enough to snap.
Being the genius that I am, I had barbeque for lunch. The colleagues and I had a very yummy Korean BBQ lunch and by the end of it, we reeked of BBQ scent. We smelled of smoke!! My hair, my clothes, even my shoes smelled so strongly of BBQ. Yummy BBQ, nonetheless.
“Oh my god, I can’t meet our former Prime Minister smelling like this?!!” I wailed.
But this is one opportunity not to be missed!
So I decided if I was going to go, I wasn’t going alone! I dragged one of my colleagues with me (who smelled equally bad! Haha) and the both of us sat still in the hall, looking down hoping no one would notice the smell. Surprisingly, NO ONE DID! Maybe they were being polite, but oh well, thank you for that then.
I love the backdrop!!

Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah launched the book and gave a speech. She said that the book was the idea of their daughter, Maizurah. She and her husband have travelled the world several times, she said, and the book was a little window to their journey. She added that some pictures have caption while others not as Tun could not remember where and when he took them. Haha.
She joked that there was a lot of nepotism in this collaboration. “Maizurah used her father as the objective and wrestled her mother to launch it.”

Pleasant surprise! Met a PD blog reader there! 🙂
My colleague and I sprayed half a bottle of perfume on each other.
We both got signed copies and went back satisfied!
