mifa 2010
November 7, 2010Can you see those eyebags?!! Waaah!!!!
Top: Pop Look
Blazer: Topshop
Bangle: Hermes
I need to get out of the office more. So, it was refreshing to be invited to MIFA (I don’t really know the difference MIFW and MIFA).
I was not able to attend one of the shows so thank God Asma’ was there so she could share her photos with me.
Sasha Rowena – love her clutches!
Yes, not a very good photographer this friend of mine. This picture above was the clearest picture. -___-
We went together on another day!
In between shows, we just had to put some food in us. Was exhausted clapping and commenting on the designs, trying to shout over the loud music. Hehe.
Me with Putri Azalea from PU3.
Headband: Sereni & Shentel
Big bow jacket: O’2nd
Jeans: 7 for All Mankind
We had fun seeing all these creative designs. But some were OTT as well that Asma’ and I just couldn’t understand the logic behind some designs. Some were soo weird we can’t imagine anyone in Malaysia wearing them!
I guess fashion is subjective…. an art…. so in some cases, the general public might not appreciate the designer’s creations as much as the designer himself does. Designers have to be prepared for some criticism (this is true for anyone la, even bloggers).
Seriously, I think Malaysia has such great fashion talent. Don’t know how they get such creative ideas!
But I don’t understand why a lot of them want to be so couture-like, creating such complicated pieces only Lady Gaga would wear. Of course people remember them, but I wonder how business is like for them because do people actually buy?! Designing is one thing, but it’s all a business at the end of the day.
If the pieces are not wearable, it makes it difficult for fashion buyers and the general public who want to buy (including ME !!!). I want to wear Malaysian designer clothes instead of always looking at shopbop.com or net-a-porter.com, but we really lack Malaysian ready-to-wear brands! The ones we have now are amazing and I feel so proud wearing the clothes, but they can be counted with just our fingers!
Come on fashion graduates!! Create your own wearable line! And then contact me please, cos I might just be your good customer 🙂
hi PD!

LOL.I oso mistaken, keep sayin’ MIFW,same spot summore.Hmm onething for sure IT’S a sincere views from PD!
Kinda agree with you gal.
MIFW/A = Malaysian International Fashion Week / Alliance
Love the simplicity of your outfits ^.^.
Eye bags, whoaaa. You should get some rest Vivy.
i wouldnt call it couture.the workmanship was too bad for a couture collection.and its too ridiculous looking to be called ready to wear.thats why u rarely see senior designers put on a show at MIFW.even buyers pun not interested anymore
Hi PD,
I notice that your hair always look fab. So, mind if you blog about your hair care products/routine next up?
Take care 🙂
hey! read about you in faces (if im not wrong) definitely looking forward to your online store!! 🙂
Pd. u looked terribly tired in the 1st picture… have a good rest…
I dont know much bout fashion, but what u write in last para is right!
100% agree =)
I went to the MIFA 2 years ago, it was pretty amazing and there were real good performances. Agreed, M’sians do have a lot of talent when it comes to fashion but sometimes they try to mimic the west’s perception of couture too much
Btw, is your friend now starting to wear tudung? Tell her she looks absolutely lovely for me. =)
i think we really need to produce good quality ready to wear more often.cos now the fashion is a global market.ppl in malaysia are expose to overseas brand.and its quite hard for local talent to match the standard of couture by Givenchy, gaultier and chanel.tapi our ready to wear market look promising cos we got a lot of young executives/professionals like vivy who’ll buy this garments.no doubt couture is good for runway show(for the drama effect)but business wise, ready to wear brings more money.
hye vivy,
i have ‘panda eyes’ too.. 🙁
what do u use to get rid of those eye-bags, if u dont mind sharing
p/s i love ur blog so very much
you still looks pretty with d eye bags 🙂
ooo,ya..
u should get some rest dear..
Dearest Vivy… With eye bags ot without, you never fail in making yourself look gorgeous as you are born gorgeous+pretty+stunning and everything under the sun. The eye bags will gone. No worries:)
I wish I could be at MIFW/MIFA as u did. Love seeing people walk through the runaway. Adore their style of walking and of course the clothes deisgn:)
Maybe some of the runaway design are just concept rather than ready to wear? Some designers like to do concepts and in the shop they sell the ready to wear..Just like cars and other designer stuffs.
yess! cantiknya your friend pakai tudung! made me want to wear tudung nowww! heheheh.
Your friend’s got really nice choices of clothes. Mind sharing?
