I can’t believe 2010 has passed! So quickly! Are You putting us on double speed mode now? -__-
It’s the time of the year again when most of us reflect on what we have achieved or still aspiring to achieve for the past 365 days.
I just want to say THANK YOU to You. Alhamdulillah, You gave a really good year for me and family. We all never had starving days, we all never ran out of clothes (I was just kidding that day when I screamed I had nothing to wear!! Blond moment…), You kept us all healthy and we all always had each other. You didn’t test us by taking one of us back to You yet, and for that, I am eternally grateful. I see some friends losing their family members and I really do not know how they can be so strong. Please don’t test me yet, dear God.
In terms of work, You gave me my dream. You allowed me to pursue what I think I’m good at and you gave me the confidence I never knew I had! And it’s blooming and growing so fast that I am just overwhelmed with the response. Thank You, God. You made me a 23-year old who is juggling between 2 very different jobs, and though I’m still trying to find the right balance, You have given me enough strength for me to keep focused. As for my hobby; writing/blogging, You have opened doors to so many opportunities that I even had to turn down some, and 2010 was a great year for this blog.
What more can I ask for in 2011, God?
Not to be demanding, but I’d really like a Swarovski-encrusted pony.
Haha, I’m kidding. You know nature and I aren’t best friends. Plus, what am I supposed to do with it.
For 2011, I’d like to have a happy, healthy and growing family and I’d like a successful international business. For my dad, I’d like You to give him less wrinkles. We both know he’s a workaholic and he won’t stop, but please at least let him have ample rest and a peace of mind. My mom; from my humble eyes, she has been such a good hamba to You so please just give whatever she desires; a happy akhirat and a gym membership that she’ll actually use. For my sister, give her and her family happiness and prosperity and always protect them from danger (the kids like to jump from couch to couch, what’s up with that?). For Opah, give her a long life that won’t hurt her health; we’re being selfish but please don’t take her away. For Dean, please don’t ever change the way he is and please guide him to have an amazingly successful career whilst never forgetting You. For the rest of my family, best friends, helpers, and staff, keep us happy, healthy and protected.
And God, please open my heart to be a better Muslim and guide me to embrace Islam as a whole.
