ramadhan room service
August 1, 2011I’ve been meaning to blog and wish all my readers a blessed Ramadhan last weekend, but mannn I had a full weekend, didn’t have time to blog.
My nephew got admitted to the hospital.
That’s right, my niece was discharged safely. Then the next day, nephew fell sick and was warded.
He had a bit of a tummy problem because he refuses to eat (seriously, can any mom advise on this? My nephew HATES eating, like it’s something disgusting) so the doctor had to put him on IV drip. Needles, again. Poor boy, he was trying to be a tough cookie. Even in pain, he’s hugging me and asking me if I’m ok or if I am well.
I really believe the Islamic belief that you should name your kids good names because each time you call it, it’s a doa. Part of my nephew’s name is Rahman, which means Loving. And that’s really his character; a very loving and caring boy. Vivy has no meaning, my parents are just a hoot. I would like to change my name to Khadijah or Aishah, thanks.
So, back to my nephew, he was only discharged yesterday so I have been traveling back and forth the hospital to keep my sister and nephew company.
There was even one time I was so tired, I fell asleep in the hospital bed while my nephew was sitting and colouring on the table. Then, I woke up 2 hours later and saw him sleeping on the extra bed! Whoopsie, trust me with babysitting your children.
But you should have seen my sister! She was walking around the hospital in her pyjamas and bedhair like a mental patient because it was like her home for a whole week! She was stuck there taking care of one kid after the other. “I want to go home. I want to go home,” she kept mumbling throughout. Wasn’t funny then, but it’s hilarious now!
Oh yeah, have you guys seen menus at hospital?!! This one in particular was better than room service! They give you a menu of choices and you tick which ones you want. They come and take it from you and voila, meal appears. First class!
I told my nephew since he doesn’t like to eat and he’s missing out, I’ll tick which ones I want and I’ll eat them. I mean, why waste, right?
Chicken porridge AND pancakes please. Wholemeal bread, and fruit juice.
Mushroom soup, stir fried beef with button mushroom served with steamed rice, pudding and milo.
Mushroom soup (I need more soup options, please), mee soto no vege please, jelly and milo.
*rubs tummy and gives nephew a satisfied look*
Before I forget….
SELAMAT MENYAMBUT RAMADHAN.
A month of patience, let’s hope we all have a blessed one and we take all this month has to offer us. This month’s like a free pahala month for us, if we do it right so let’s grab the opportunity, InsyaAllah. Wish me luck too! Please do forgive me for any wrongdoings, any words that may have hurt or annoyed you. 1 day down, 29 to go! Brrrrrrrring it.
Happy ramadhan al-mubarak vivy..May Allah ease our journey through Ramadhan kareem~
