cookie crumbs
October 24, 2011If any of you want to rent Opah for the day right, she’s soooo easy to handle. She only needs a few things that make her happy.
1) Air seratus (100 Plus)
2) Roti Dean (Rotiboy Mexican bun)
3) Handphone (she doesn’t know how to use it, she just panics and stares at it whenever it rings or beeps. So I suggest take out the battery, she’ll never know)
4) Quran (her standard’s high though. Not just any Quran, she needs the digital one where the Ustaz reads it out. She’s all high-tech now)
5) Torchlight (she needs them at night to find God knows what la)
6) The big fork thingy to scratch her back
Just recently, I found another thing she is now obsessed with.
I bought her Famous Amos cookies for fun and she loved it so much she put it on her bedside table. Everyday she’d eat slowly, savouring each bite and crumb.
She looked so down one day and I asked her why.
She pointed at the Famous Amos cookie jar next to her, “There’s only 2 left.” And she stared at the wall.
Hahahahahaahahaha.
So mengada right?!!
I went to KLCC to get her some Famous Amos. Dean was like “Please don’t buy so much. It’s not good for her health.”
“Are you kiddin me?? She’s 90! I’ll get her anything she wants.” (But I only bought 100 gm because I was worried after that)
I came home and presented the royal package.
She was so happy, she started berzikir-ing all the “Alhamdulillah” and “Mashaallah”. Made me sleep so well that night. I was humbled by Opah. Here I am chasing the wealth in life, but sometimes, it’s good to sit back, have a moment and enjoy the sweet pleasures in life like licking off cookie crumbs with my grandmother!

Opah’s so sweet. She still waits for me every morning at the front of the house to send me off to work. Recently I was very late and she gave up waiting, so she wheeled herself to the back of the house. Then I came down to look for her before I left for work.
“Opah?!” I called to the air.
“I’m at the back!” She yelled back.
So, I made my way to the back of the house. She, on the other hand, was making her way to the front of the house to find me. We went round and round, it was hilarious!
“Opah?!”
“YES! WHERE ARE YOU, I’M TIRED.”
“Ok, stay put!! I’ll come to you.”
“Well, why didn’t you think of that earlier?!!”
i love opah too :,,)

my grandma is like your opah too! she has a new hobby and that’s snacking! she looooooooves to snack nowadays (something she doesn’t do in the past) and she’s really disappointed when there’re no snacks in the house! she can be really cute at times even though she’s 92 π
