This long weekend I planned to do my me time. Mani, pedi, waxing, trim hair, spa, you know the usual pampering stuff.
Mom had other ideas.
“I have been wanting a few hours of your time for this wedding planning, and all you have time for is work. You better sit down here with me and settle all these things. I am about to explode with the stress of your wedding and I need you to tell me what you want NOW.”
So this whole time, I sorted out my guest list, my decorations, my pelamin, my entourage, my videos, my photographs etc.
Each of them have their own drama, but all were bearable.
The biggest drama of all revolves around color schemes and all our dresses. I’ve got to think about color and design for Dean, my parents, my sister, my niece and nephew, my bridesmaids, my dulang girls and the usherers. Worst of all, I have 4 events to think about; engagement, akad nikah, bride’s reception and groom’s reception. 3 of which are happening one day after the other.
Finally, I finalised what most of them are going to wear.
I sketched one by one.
I look so haggard these days! Not bride material at all!
Making niece a gorgeous kaftan for my engagement.
I asked nephew, what do you want to wear for my engagement?
He gave me this.
I was quite happy that things were moving. For my engagement, my dress, Dean’s baju Melayu and my family members’ outfits are settled.
For the rest of the occasions…
I need a new word for pengsan.
Don’t even get me started on the process of designing MY dress.
