what do you want?
March 5, 2012I had a shoot with The Star recently with 5 gorgeous girls; Miss Universe Malaysia Kimberly Leggett (who led the runway at FV’s 1st birthday wooot!), Miss World 2008 Soo Wincci, artists Elvira and Liyana Fizi and waterskiing champion Phillipa.
We did it in conjunction with International Women’s Day happening this 8th of March.
My jumpsuit: Jas.C (available in orange and green)
That interview and shoot was not only fun because of the 6 different characters they grouped together, but because they made us feel like queens when they asked “What do you want in life?”
The editor thinks that a lot of women know what they don’t want, but when asked what they actually want, they have no clue!
When they asked me that, I sat down for a bit. Gosh… it’s such a simple question, yet it really makes you think about life and your end goal. God put us here, so now what, what do we want to achieve in life? A lot of preachers think life as a Muslim is all about praying, fasting, and constantly learning by going to Islamic talks and courses all the time. Yes, it is, but I do think it’s an added bonus and God would be proud if we did other things to improve society, learning about the world and the other beliefs/cultures people have, or working hard to improve our careers.
So after a while, I found my answer.
What I really want in life is to strike a balance.
I want to spend time with my family. I want to work hard and have successful businesses. I want to spend time learning and practicing Islam. I want to write more often. I want to learn how to cook. I want to travel the world. I want to raise a family. I want to be an awesome and loving wife. I want to go on holidays with my girlfriends. I want to go to the gym more often. I want a healthier lifestyle.
All these things are possible, but what annoys me is how fast time flies! We can’t seem to do much in a day anymore. So that’s what I’m struggling to do and what I really want out of life; a balance of everything.
Now your turn.
What do you want?
I want to find my the one. I want to lose some weight. I want to go back to Malaysia this summer. I want to be happy. i want to be a better daughter/student/friend/muslimah. π
Most of what I want in life has been said by you, Vivy. To travel the world, to spend more time with my family, to learn more about Islam and practice them, to have a balance of everything..
most importantly now…i want to be a perfect mother to bring up my kids to be a real muslim who end of the day will be my ticket to jannah…its so easy to say but yet it comes with great responsibilities, especially looking at how the world works now…n with my limited time…may my dreams come true π
i want to always learn to be better in whatever i do. to strive for my strength and manage my weakness. insyaallah…. π
I want to further for my Master level this September and I hope I dont have any financial problems that can take me to postponed that! I want to have huge salary so I never have problems when it comes to money! I want to be a good Muslim, good daughter, good sister and good aunt. And when the time comes, I want to meet the one that will be with me for the rest of my life. ( too much huh? )
For me its easy. Of cos I want the usual stuff too like having a family, being a good wife, a successful woman… but most important is that among all that, I want to make a difference in the world – in all the things that I do, whatever it may be. I only have one life… and I want it to make a difference in this world π
