she’s in seven
March 15, 2013I went to my mom’s house and my little niece was there all smiley and cheerful. I love it when she’s in this mood (she has her PMS days, trust me), so fun to be around.
She was watching me do some work on my laptop. Baby D was pressing on my bladder so I was doing my rounds to the toilet. When I came back, suddenly I saw this on my screen and little niece was laughing so much.

“Look Maksu, it’s Nyang!! She so cute.”
A little bit of my heart ached and there was a lump in my throat looking at the picture. I haven’t been able to bring myself to see pictures of my late Opah because obviously I miss her loads. I guess sometimes you have to remind yourself of your late beloveds and also remind yourself that God can take any one of us anytime. But it definitely helped to have little niece there making the mood a lot lighter with her cute laughs.
I sat down with her and observed the picture that I hadn’t seen for a long time. Put little niece on my lap and stroked her hair.
“Do you miss Nyang, Zara?”
She nodded. “Yep, Nyang!” She pointed again at the picture.
“Me too. Do you know where Nyang is now?”
“Where, Maksu?”
“Nyang is in heaven!”
“Seven?”
“No.. heaven.”
“Seven.”
“Ok, fine. She’s in seven.”
Hope you’re among the righteous and being pampered by God, Opah. You’re missed every single day by so many people. Al-Fatihah.
Al fatihah..may opah hv wonderful time in seven 🙂
Teary eyes, al-fatihah for your late opah…
Al – fatihah
al fatihah .
Al-Fatihah. 🙂
Al fatihah. I also am missing my late bestfriend. Her sudden death last month is so painful to me, and I can’t bear the ache in my heart to look at her pictures. I understand how your feeling is. Yeah, life goes on.. Just keep it as a reminder from the Almighty..that death is certain.
We heard so many times in English movie or drama saying their love ones goes to heaven once they died. Never ever one goes to hell. That’s might be their practice. But as Muslim, we did not go to heaven or hell once we are death. There’s a transition between here and after where we called it Alam Barzakh. just for info.
I missed my opah too 🙁
