my new bananas and fish

I was the first to squeal in delight when Tesco announced they were starting their online delivery service. In uni back in London, I was so used to shopping for groceries online and having it delivered to my doorstep. No car, freezing outside, the possibility of raining, and the thought of walking 10 blocks to and fro the supermarket with 5 bags… oh man, no thanks.

I started off going through their microsite! For all Tesco delivery virgins (hehe), this is the best way to explain how the process goes.

That’s me without my tudung chilling at home scrolling through bananas and fish.

They pick according to my shopping list.

They’ve got a trained delivery service team to handpick all orders on the day of delivery so the groceries will be fresh and new!

Me so excited with my new bananas and fish at my door.

Soooo, since I’m a big supporter of us doing nothing and having things delivered to us (obviously haha) I am now a regular on this website.

They have EVERYTHING, guys and everything is categorized properly. So me going through their categories–> as if I’m walking through the aisles.

If you are looking for something, you can just type in the box what you need and everything will come out for you–> as if I’m asking the guy “Hey where’s the sugar section?”

After you’re done, you can choose the delivery slot. Every slot is 2-hourly so you can choose which time is most convenient for you.

Then you pay!–> as if you’re at the counter.

They’ve got 17,000 items available online, which really would take like a year for you to scroll through each one. So I suggest you use your My Favourites section after login. When you’re a regular, you will definitely use your Favourites section so you don’t have to spend so much time running around the house to see what other items you might have missed out on.

Can’t forget my Roller Coaster Cheese!

Tesco will calculate the best route for delivery in terms of distance, time and weight of goods to ensure all deliveries are within the time frame and goods remain fresh.

I chose the 6 – 8 pm slot so I was already ready at home. The polite Tesco guy called me to give me a heads up that he was coming. Let’s see if they delivered within the time frame….

By about 6.45 pm, my doorbell rang. Weeee, grocery’s here!

Rain or shine, they never disappoint! And whether you stay in a house or condo or even office, Tesco happily delivers.

I love how everything is organized in their truck; they’ve got different compartments with different temperature storage for different types of food – Chilled, Frozen etc. Amazing!

So the polite Tesco guy then tells me to stop checking out their truck and instead please inspect the goods. If I’m not happy with anything, I can just return it. Tesco will even bring replacement items!

Payment is all via credit card only so no cash is required, just safe and reliable transactions! The guy politely thanked me, which made me so embarrassed because I should be thanking him for kindly loading and unloading for me. I almost offered him my Roller Coaster Cheese but decided I’m quite selfish so it’s ok then.

Ok time to sort my grocery out!

Didn’t have to even leave my house. Online shopping is awesome!
