Is how I feel right now after packing orders all day long.
Clothes don’t even look like clothes anymore. They’re just a blur. Haha.
I had to borrow my colleague’s ugly slippers because my heels were just such a bad idea.
As usual, every year nearer to Raya, FV’s warehouse will be buzzing and we all go on till midnight packing orders as customers get more and more anxious about their Raya packages. We get it, of course, so we’re all anxious too to pack as fast as we can and the postman’s phone number is on our speed dial. Orders will mountain up during this festive season as it is the peak period in the Malaysian retail scene. Alhamdulillah FV is no exception to this.
So I go on no-meetings-no-events-no-social-life mode and I’ve been spending days in the warehouse overseeing the deliveries and packing and everything. We recruited a lot more people and I have to make sure they don’t make mistakes since they’re new. Even the non-fulfilment FV team comes to help till the wee hours. It’s an amazing amazing time at FV, not just because of the sales number, but because you can really see the team coming together. Yes we have our bad moments, but when our teammates need us, we would drop everything. Including me.
So…. standing from morning till night without rest to pack orders and check things…. has resulted in this.
I have so much respect for people in the warehouse. While we sit in the office under the cooling aircond and just type away on our laptops, our colleagues in fulfilment don’t even have a moment to sit!
Another group of people I have a lot of respect for are the postmen. Seeing them everyday, they’re my new best friends now as we chat about things. The relationship is deep, guys. Hehe. Did you know they wear a back supporter given by their company to help them from getting backaches from carrying the many many guni’s of parcels. One guy yesterday came looking fresh and after carrying like 20 sacks into the van, he was drenched in sweat. Like drenchedddddd. And he’s fasting too!
SO. MUCH. RESPECT. FOR. YOU. HAIRUL.
Yep, we’re on first name basis now.
In fact, we’re so tight that he lets me do this to his van.
Hehe. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get to drive his van. Ok maybe not.
