i don’t like it either
July 13, 2016 • 25 comments • 882 viewsPotty-traning is really frustrating sometimes. It’s not a 3-day thing like all the articles tell you (LIES, ALL LIESSSS), it takes much longer than that. The other day, a close friend had her 6-year old accidentally pee in public, I think I also had accidents as a child (one involved me wetting my mom’s friend’s bed that I was napping on… they never let me forget). Daniel wet Toots’ bed the other day, so I guess it runs in the family. Haha.
Anyway, Daniel’s much better now but we still put on the diaper at night when he sleeps because every single morning, he will pee immediately when he wakes up. We tried to YOLO it up and train him to sleep without the diaper and when he wakes up, we have to wrestle him to the toilet immediately which is such a bad way for him to start his day. Poor child. So it’s back to diaper at night now. But till how long?? I even tell him no more peeing in his diaper, diapers are only for emergency cases andΒ he still has to tell when he needs to go to the toilet.
Tonight, he peed in his diaper despite me telling him all the time to pee in the toilet.
“Daniel, how come you didn’t tell Mommy you needed to pee?”
“Oh man… sorry Mommy.”
I sighed. “Daniellllll, I don’t like it when you pee in your diaper!”
“Mommy,” he looked up at me and let out a sigh, “I don’t like it either. Sigh.”
And he walked away looking very annoyed.
I wanted to laugh.
Dia pulak yang merajuk?!Β
your second viewers wuhu! Hi vivy
Daniel so funny. Happy belated birthday!!
Haha!
My senior have interesting theory as to why toddlers now have more difficulties to potty-trained. Blame the diapers! Its so comfortable and dry and absorbable and whatnot – they dont feel yucky to pee in it, comparing to the good old days when they used lampin. Its so rough and uncomfortable theyd prefer to pee outside!
Interesting theory huh? that makes me wonder, any mommies here using cloth diaper. Do u find it easier to potty train them?
*curious*
my son is 4 years old and he’s still wear diapers at night vivy. Daniel can take it easy.. hehe
hahahaha.. YOLO i like it!
i dont like it either.. what a cute answer..
have u asked him to pee right before sleeping? and no water maybe 1 hour before sleep hehe- it works for me right before climbing into bed, Pee first- kalau tak mesti kencing – aircond so sejuk they will pee pepagi tak menyempat sometimes
Sian diee. hahaha.
i think there’s a waterproof mattress cover that can help for potty training toddlers at night.
If this can console you a bit.. my little brother used diapers at night until he’s 10. We never figure out why.. until the bibik told us that watermelon causes him to pee at night. He ate watermelon all the time mcm nasik you see..
Funny Daniel…very funny.. hehe
When I was 13, I accidentally peed in front of my friend’s house coz I was so embarrassed to tumpang my friend’s toilet. 16 years ago and it still haunting me.
Awww that’s a good sign though that he too doesn’t like peeing in his diaper either! All the best! Maybe you can try doing earlier from now with Mariam? They say girls are better at it π And the earlier the better, senang2 dulu susah2 kemudian :p
Anak anak sedara saya pun mengalami benda yang sama. Their self-employed parents with no Bibik takde pilihan. Terpaksa guna diapers last nya. Huhu.
bertabahlah mommy π take care of ur bags too ;p
hahaha… i can see you in daniel…
Takpe vivy, its normal.. i dah latih anak I going to toilet and tak boleh minum b4 sleep since 4 years old. Now, dia dah nak masuk 6 tahun. Sometimes, still ter’lepas’ jugak.. yang penting jgn marah dia.. nanti dia tahan buang air, kena sakit lain pula.. hehe.. bertabahlah vivy..
try use those cloth diapers on him. hopes he he feels icky and start telling you that he needs to pee π
In my cases,i dont force my daughter to peeing in toilet ,i just let her wear diapers as long as she want, but we keep remind her ‘there were alots of bacteria in your diapers grow everytime you kencing in it,u dont wash and imagine the scary monster bacteria living there’so ,everytime she want to peeing she will buka diapers and once done do her “business’ she will wear it again (since umur 3 tahun) and at age of 4 years dia dah give up and finally no longer pakai diapers. Pernah juga dia peeing on floor but i asked her to wipe. Hahahaha 1 of her lessons. #makkejam . Peeing on bed pun 5times,the 5th times tu we let her sleep on comforter alone ada alas plastic and since then before tidur dia make sure dia peeing dulu to avoid from swimming on bed.
Just let them wear, slowly they will learn. As long as dont pressure them. Good Luck daniel!
I peed at my hostel when i was form 4. Not my bed. But it was my friend’s bed. They dont blame me. They said they understand T_T I was dreaming peeing in toilet that time. Anyone can feel me ?
It took my son (a 5yo) 2 years to be fully potty trained (finally all done no.1 & no.2) and I do agree with Sharyda no need to force your kids as it comes naturally after awhile.
Boys takes longer and I am starting my 2nd one soon. Chill mommy, daniel will get there! #teamdaniel #pottywoes #2boysand3rdonecoming
so true, Vivy. U just have to hold on there. I have a pair. The eldest, a son and the youngest, a daughter. i put them both on potty training at the end of their 3yo. Alhamdulillah, successful. both stop on diapers when they entered their 4yo. of course, u’ll have to be very, very , very much patient at it. haha. moms really do well with patient *its our best traits. when i started potty training on them i made it a ‘no diapers’ at all. i made sure they settled on pee and poo before we go out (sometimes worked, sometimes not, haha) but hangin’ there. u’ll manage, they’ll manage. i clap my hands all the way when i totally don’t have to spend money on diapers anymore *phewww. *blow my nails shine. love you Vivy.
I don’t have kids but I’m a preschool teacher and we have to toilet train the kids too. There are so many methods but recently one of the parents of my kids made this reward chart for her son which is with him throughout the day. It’s an a4 paper with his favourite cartoon character and a table with a few rows and columns which says “I sat on the potty”, “I peed on the potty”, and “I poo on the potty”. So every time he does smth on the chart, he chops/stamps that column and when he fills up one sheet of paper with stamps, he gets his favourite fruit/vitagen. Amazingly, it works and there have been no accidents ever since. He even goes independently now. But before that both his parents and I had to talk to him constantly about using the potty too. But it also depends on Daniel’s readiness too. All the best!
You’ve got such an adorable son & his growing up stories are such a joy to read. Btw, if you dont mind me asking, what camera do you use to snap your pics pls? I’ve alwz loved ur pics on your blog here…bright, sharp & clear. I’m looking to purchase a camera myslf. Thanks! π
Sama dilema dengan kak Vivy, my daughter 3 old now! But trust me, everything happen mesti ada improvement kan, never be the same again!
