NO MORE SURPRISES.
We say that every year and every year, I find myself planning surprises with either Toots and Asma’ for our birthdays. Pftttt. WE NEED TO KEEP TO OUR WORDS, GUYS. Not young anymore haha.
On her actual birthday we took her out for a Japanese dinner at Nobu and it was soooo nice. Just us 3. To be honest, we’ve each been traveling a lot and now everyone’s so busy. Asma’ with her new role as Creative Director at LoveToDress is now managing a team under her, and Toots also got promoted to Manager in a new department and also having to take care of little Musa. It’s all pretty exciting, but we miss our quiet AVA time. Dean was all like oooooh we’re gonna have so much fun. Gave him a look like Ummm no dude you’re staying home and taking care of our kids. Anyway, at Nobu we had a balloon and all and wore our party hats… the atas people there probably thought we were so lame but who caresssss. The waitress initially told me I couldn’t have a balloon there but I gave her my best pleaseeeeeeeee? look. Win.
That weekend, we decided to give her the surprise (no more after this).
She’s always wanted a party at a construction site with big cones on our heads. Like seriously, one day, I would like to explore her brain to find out how Mimak-ville works. So being the awesome people that we are, we made it happen.
They’re new and clean, don’t worry.
It had to be breakfast at 7am because I had a flight to catch that morning. We were supposed to watch the sunrise together but umm that didn’t happen. Asma’ is into all this healthy eating way of life now (NO SUGAR AT ALL NO WONDER SHE’S GRUMPY) so our breakfast was just that. Only fruits, yogurt, green juice, granolas… basically nothing for me. I snuck in some Koko Krunch just to survive at breakfast.
Mine’s the nicest. Added some janggut using my Koko Krunch.
The location was…. TOOTS’ NEW HOUSE!! It was an extra special day because not only were we celebrating Asma’ turning
29 18, but it was also our first time stepping in Toots’ new house that’s being built now. We can safely say we had the first meal in her house haha. She gave us a tour of her home and we were picking our rooms already (mine’s the top one overlooking the greenery… Asma’s one is the toilet that comes with it). It was double happiness for me sharing my best friends’ happiness, and that morning was just perfect… despite the construction workers thinking we were absolutely nuts and having the view of the portable toilet.
Making her happy was just so satisfying for Toots and I. We don’t say it enough but Asma’ is one of a kind, a selfless being who constantly puts others before her. I’m very blessed for good friends in my life and we always joke that we’ll be sleeping over each other’s mansions in Jannah. THAT, my friends, IS ULTIMATE #GOALS. Nothing else even compares.
Thank you @mint_events for being the best best best people for helping us set up the table and decor at a construction site at 5 am in the morning. And they didn’t even complain, I would’ve been screw these crazy clients. Hehe.
